A few stuff to say about Montreal...is quiet, green and veryyy french.
When u will be there don't miss Basislic Notre-Dame de Montreal - the entrance is 5 can$ and we could give more -is really worth it. You have to see the view from top of Park Mont Royal on all the city, with rivers and lakes which are around. There is as well Olympic Stadion which lift can take u upstairs , but we recommend to not go. U will have much better view from The Mont Royal. Close to the stadiun is botanic garden. We were just outside and no regrets is nice, colorfull and quiet with few fontains around- nice place to eat your snacks:))) We were at the famous fresh food market at Jean Talon station, but was a bit expensive.
As we didn't know the city has a famous 'gay street' which name is St.Catherine. Overe there you can fing pubs, clubs and restaurants - not just for gays. We were a bit suprised because didn't see to many 'posh' shops and people not wearing that kind of clothes as well. Montreal is famous as a university city and we saw many of them. What was as well surprise - nothing really to be proud of it - there is lots, lots, lots homeless people. They are everywhere! and as well lots property for sale, totaly closed with window painted on white or behind the bars. Some part of the city just looks like ghost city.
To add just one more sentence about it - the people are very friendly, helpfull and just simple nice.
